Wilmington Dance Academy Performs at the 1st Annual
Dance for the World Community Festival in Harvard Square

Put on by José Mateo's Ballet Theatre, this first year event was a great success with hundreds of people in attendance. There were 35 different dance groups invited to perform and Wilmington Dance Academy was honored to have been chosen. The concept of this event was to celebrate the diversity that exists in dance. A project that links local dance groups with governmental, cultural and social agencies to educate and enrich through dance. All the performances were in different dance forms and included area dance companies and youth troupes. As well as performances, free introductory dance classes were offered throughout the day.
WDA is proud to have participated in this community outreach program, a full day of dance and dance activities for the whole community. WDA was the opening act for the festival with four dances.
Wilmington Dance Academy successfully completed its first annual recital Sunday June 4th at the Reading Memorial High School. Hundreds were in attendance and everyone performed beautifully.
Congratulations to all our dancers for a performance well done!
